Welcome to ALERT, a chaplaincy organization designed to ordain and license volunteers for humanitarian services.  We are definitively Christian and the Bible is our moral compass.  However, the work of a chaplain is not a religious work.  It is quite simply the act of love, an act that unifies all faiths and cultures.  There is no room here for racial or religious discomfort in chaplaincy work.  The chaplain serves all.

The main goal of this program is to provide Barnabas companionship for those already functioning in service ministry and for those who are compelled to serve but do not know where to start.  If you are unfamiliar with the term, “Barnabas,” the name means, “to come alongside.”  The biblical character, Barnabas, was a true servant and advocate.

If you are uncertain about where you would like to serve we do have programs in place, such as at-risk student tutoring, teaching Junior Achievement economics, emergency preparedness including Critical Incident Stress applications and respite tent readiness, and even hospice spiritual care, and more.  But what is your vision?

Already volunteering?  We want to know what you are doing in the world—YOUR unique volunteer activities are our number one interest.  We desire to help facilitate what you have been called to do.  You do not enter our pre-fabricated world of opportunities; rather, we create scaffolding around your unique vision.
